Sunčica Trkulja Šušnjar (BiH)
Sunčica Trkulja Šušnjar completed her bachelor's studies in guitar at the Academy of Arts (University of Banja Luka) in the class of prof. Zoran Krajišnik and prof. Srđan Tošić, and her master's studies in the class of prof. Nataša Jokić.
She attended masterclasses of the world's leading guitarists, such as Aniello Desiderio, Paolo Pegoraro, Zoran Dukić, Sante Tursi, Pavel Steidl, Hubert Käppel, Ricardo Gallen, Marcin Dylla, Roberto Aussel, Alvaro Pierri, Gaëlle Solal, Anabel Montesinos, Petrit Çeku, and many others.
During her musical education, she performed all over Bosnia and Herzegovina as a soloist and chamber musician in guitar ensembles (duo, trio, quartet, sextet, and octet), and in chamber ensembles with flute, violin, voice, and jazz piano trio. She had her most significant performance in 2013 at the Banski Dvor Cultural Center, where she performed Concierto del Sur by M. M. Ponce, with the orchestra of the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka.
Sunčica has been teaching at the Savo Balaban Music School in Prijedor since 2009. Her students achieved notable results with over fifty first prizes won at competitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. She is also employed at the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka as a professional associate for Guitar, Guitar Methodology, and Guitar Transcription.
She is a frequent member of the jury of the Republika Srpska music school student competition, the Fantast competition in Bečej (Serbia), and the Sarajevo International Guitar Festival. Sunčica is the vice president of the Association of Guitarists 102 Strings and one of the organizers of Ubuntu Guitarfest held in Banja Luka since 2019 (ubuntuguitarfest.ba).
Sunčica Trkulja is a member of the Orchestra 102 guitar strings, with which she has performed several projects throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. She actively performs in guitar duo La Luz with Nataša Jokić and the newly founded guitar trio comprised of guitar teachers from the Savo Balaban Music School — Igor Motl, Dragan Marinković, and Sunčica Trkulja Šušnjar.
