Klara Tomljanovič (SLO/DE)
Klara Tomljanovič is Slovenian guitarist based in Karlsruhe, Germany and Basel, Switzerland. She studied in Freiburg with professor Sonja Prunnbauer and in Basel (Switzerland) with professor Oscar Ghiglia. Already as a student she started to work with composers and dedicated her work to contemporary music. She was a member of Aleph Guitar-quartet, where her international career had started. Later, in 2011 she became a soloist and chamber musician of Ensemble “Experimental des SWR Experimental studio”, where she constantly works with composers and performs, many of their world premieres.
In 2021 Klara won together with Festival Imago Sloveniae an award of the Ernst von Siemens Music-Foundation. With its support four new pieces were written for her: Marton Illes, Steingrimur Rohloff, Tomaž Bajzelj and Alberto Carretero.
In her 20 years of intensive work with many well-known composers like: Vinko Globokar, Nikolaus Brass, Nicolas A. Huber, Beat Furrer, Georg Friedrich Haas, Helmut Oehring, Martin Smolka, Marko Nikodijević, Vito Žuraj many pieces have been dedicated to her. Her musician partners were: Ensemble Mosaic, Academy of the Ensemble Modern, Slowind, Aleph Gitarrenquartett, Radio Symphony Orchestra of the Southwest Baden Baden and Stuttgart SWR, Orchestra of the Slovenian Philharmonic, Teodoro Anzellotti, Ernesto Molinari, Roberto Fabbriciani, Isao Nakamura, Petra Hoffmann, Rei Nakamura, Sylvia Nopper, Uroš Rojko and many others. She gave herself in the interpretations of new music totally in an emotional as well as intellectual way. Her immense tremendous and sensuous presence on the stage is guaranteed.
