Katarina Habe holds a PhD in psychology and focuses her scientific research and professional work on the development of performance success strategies (motivation, self-esteem, stress management, attention, and memory), with an emphasis on overcoming stage fright and fostering flow. She presents her professional work at numerous psychological and music conferences and in scientific and professional journals (Horyzons of Psychology, Studia Didactica, Brain Topography, International Journal of Psychophysiology; Frontiers in Performance Science). She collaborates with the Institute of Education of the Republic of Slovenia. She is employed as an associate professor of  psychology in the Department of Music Education at the Academy of Music, University of Ljubljana, and she also teaches music psychology subjects on a contractual basis at the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Arts at the University of Maribor, as well as at the Knoll Institute for Music Therapy and Supervision.

Recently, the main focus of her research has been on studying music as a means to promote psychophysical well-being in neurotypical individuals and those from vulnerable groups, while also promoting holistic well-being among musicians.
